Visa requirements for Canadians

Canadian citizens using Canadian passports can purchase a visa upon arrival (VOA) in the country at the first airport or land border crossing point. There is no application process.

Visa requirements for Foreigners

You must apply directly to the embassy or high commission for this visa. No third party can assist.

 

Canadian citizens using a Canadian passport require a visa to visit Nepal. These visas are usually issued at the airport in Nepal. Canadians can purchase a 15 day, 30 day, or 90 day tourist visa upon arrival at the airport in Nepal. The on-arrival visa fees are US$25 for 15 days; US$40 for 30 days; and US$100 for 90 days.

Tourist visas may be purchased in advance or can be bought in Nepal upon arrival at: Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu; Biratnagar (Jogbani), Birgunj (Raxaul), Bhairahawa (Sunauli) and Kakarbhitta (Panitanki) on Nepal-India border and Kodari on Nepal China border.
